Latent Pictures are looking for trainees for upcoming production filming in Birmingham

Roles available: DIT / Digital Imaging Trainee

The production will be based primarily in Birmingham, with much of the shoot taking place either on location or in a studio near the city centre, around the B5 postcode area. Some filming will also take place at locations within approximately a 30-mile radius of Birmingham B5.

Latent Pictures is specifically looking to connect with trainees who are based in Birmingham/West Midlands, or who can reliably travel to Birmingham and the surrounding filming locations. We are also open to hearing from trainees based slightly further afield, including Bristol, if they have access to reliable transport and are able to make the travel work.

This would suit someone who is at the early stage of their screen career and looking to build professional on-set experience within the digital imaging side of TV production.

Ideal candidates would be: Entry-level, but professional, reliable and punctual

Interested in camera department, digital imaging, data management, video assist or wider technical production

  • Set-aware, or keen to learn professional on-set etiquette

  • Based in Birmingham / West Midlands, or able to travel reliably to Birmingham and nearby locations

  • Available during the production shoot period: 6th July - 29th September

  • Able to provide a CV or short summary of relevant training, credits, placements or practical experience

  • Able to confirm whether they have a driving licence and/or access to a car, if required by the production

For the DIT Trainee role, we’d be interested in people with any experience or training in data wrangling, media management, backups, camera cards, basic colour workflows, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, Avid, video playback or post-production workflows.

This is intended to be a paid trainee opportunity, not an unpaid placement or work experience request.
